Did you know that charter schools are public schools?
Charter schools are tuition-free, open to all students, and held accountable to state and federal standards. According to the U.S. Department of Education, a charter school is “a school providing free public elementary and/or secondary education to eligible students under a specific charter granted by the state legislature or other appropriate authority.” We are so excited to celebrate charter public schools throughout National Charter Schools Week! A new fact series will be on the blog each day this week so check back for fun graphics to share on Twitter and Facebook.
