The Rising Leaders Initiative (RLI) by the National Alliance for Public Charter Schools is a one-year advocacy training program for high school students who attend charter schools. RLI was launched in 2022 and completed its first year in 2023 with an inaugural cohort who lifted the voices of students to create change. Participants hosted voter registration drives, led letter-writing campaigns to Congress, collaborated with media platforms to promote awareness on public education, and much more.

Charter schools are public schools that offer parents the opportunity to pick a school that best fits the needs of their child. There is never a cost to attend, and charter schools are open to all students.
