Charter Schools: Engaging Parents

Charter Schools: Engaging Parents

February 18, 2016

As a mom of two boys, I see the distinct differences in my sons’ personalities and learning styles. That’s why I wanted a school that could meet their unique academic needs while respecting their differences. I found my solution in the charter school philosophy.
Supporting the charter school movement is very important to me, and educating parents on the benefits of charter schools is a personal goal. After all, parents are a child’s first and most important advocate. Empowering parents with the tools they need to make an informed decision on which path is best for their child is essential to the charter school movement. I’ve seen firsthand how charter schools are able to examine a child’s academic and social needs, and then meet those needs through rigorous curriculum combined with diverse programs and activities. More parents deserve access to quality charter public schools that can enhance and challenge a child’s educational experience. Visit www.publiccharters.org/openthedoors to read more stories about how charter schools change lives, and tell Congress to increase support for charter schools.
