The National Alliance works every day to lead public education to unprecedented levels of academic achievement by fostering a strong charter movement. The outcome we work towards is that all students are career- and college-ready by the time they graduate from high school. Ideally those who enroll in college persist and graduate from college, but we know the road can be a challenge, especially during freshman year.
One of our partners in the charter community, KIPP, has put together a great series aimed at helping students and the community understand the transition from high school to college. Check out the post which gives advice from KIPP alumni as well as from other college leaders for students who have finished their first month of college. And great advice about surprises student might encounter in college life and how to handle bumps along the road.
