The 144 is a discontinued model known for its lightweight, compact size and ease of use thanks to its snap-on cap. While its successor, the 145, features a screw-on cap, the 144's one-touch opening and closing mechanism makes it highly practical, and it remains popular today.

This item is an early generation model featuring an ebonite feed. Unlike the resin feeds found in current and later models, the ebonite feed provides stable ink flow, offering a smooth and pleasant writing experience.

The nib is a 14K solid gold (monotone) nib with an EF (extra fine) width. This is a particularly popular nib width both domestically and internationally, making it easy to write small characters without blurring, and is very suitable for Japanese writing. It has the softness and delicate touch characteristic of a solid gold nib, providing a smooth and controllable writing experience.
