This book is a collection of photographs from the "First Born" series by Taiji Arita, a photographer who had a great influence in the 1970s. The series features photos taken around 1970 of his then-wife Jessica and son Cohen. This series was published in Camera Mainichi from 1969 to 1975 and received a great response, but it has not been available since then. This series, which had long been considered a legendary masterpiece, has been revived with fresh vibrancy through reprinting and editing by photographer Yoshihiko Ueda, who was a disciple of Arita. Although the photos were taken as the family of three played together, they go beyond the framework of family photos, exuding a unique, lighthearted humor and eroticism, and are still fresh and impressive works today.
