This is a nice reproduction piece of the Labrys and Bull motif of Crete. Known also as the Bull of Knossos it represents the legend of the minotaur from Greek Mythology. The double sided axe or "Labrys" represents Crete and is a sacred symbol of Minoan religion. It is perfect to dress up an altar or sacred space dedicated to Greek Paganism. The piece is made from high quality gypsum plaster, measures 10.5cm by 17cm at widest points, and is about 1.5cm thick. it has a hemp cord for hanging. I shall be doing other painted variations of this so please see other listings.
